Beijing Automobile Works was originally founded in 1958 as the second largest automobile factory in China, with its name inscribed by Mr. Zhu De, Chairman of the National People's Congress, In 2001, it evolved to become Beijing Automobile Works Co., Ltd. (BAW), a company based on a modern enterprise sustem. BAW has been manufacturing automobiles for 50 years, firmly entrenching itself as China's most reliable off-road auto-maker. While focusing on off-road vehicles, it also develops commercial vehicles and special vehicles to meet the demands of military users and domestic, as well as overseas civilian markets. With a sound contribution to national economic development and defense, it has become China's default supplier of military purpose vehicles and the backbone of its light off-road industry.
Huanghua Automobile Industrial Base of BAW Automobile Works is located in Huanghua Economic Development Zone, Hebei Province.
